SHE may not have returned with the Miss Supranational crown, but to many Zimbabweans, Nicole Nyawera has come home a winner.
The Miss Supranational Zimbabwe 2026 queen captured the nation’s imagination after securing a place among the
Top 24 at the Miss Supranational finale held in Poland on Friday, an achievement that has been widely celebrated across the country.
Social media was awash with congratulatory messages praising the beauty queen for her outstanding performance on one of the world’s biggest pageantry stages. For a contestant making her international pageant debut, Nicole exceeded expectations, proving that Zimbabwe can confidently compete alongside the world’s established beauty pageant powerhouses.
The coveted Miss Supranational 2026 title was won by the Philippines’ Katrina Llegado, with Brazil, the Czech
Republic, France and Nigeria completing the Top Five. Yet for many Zimbabweans, Nicole had already earned the nation’s admiration long before the final results were announced.
“What a queen! You carried our flag with elegance and class,” wrote one supporter on social media.
Another added: “Top 24 on your first international pageant? That’s no small achievement. We are proud of you.”
Many described her as “Zimbabwe’s golden girl”, applauding her confidence, humility and grace throughout the competition.
Nicole consistently emerged as one of the pageant’s standout contestants during the weeks leading up to the grand finale. Her confident runway walks, elegant fashion choices and commanding stage presence attracted praise from pageant enthusiasts around the world.
Her national costume also generated widespread attention, earning acclaim from international pageant bloggers and fashion lovers while Zimbabweans proudly shared images of the striking creation across social media platforms.
Following the competition, Nicole took to social media to express her gratitude to Zimbabweans for their unwavering support. “My heart is overflowing with gratitude. Thank you, Zimbabwe, for every prayer, every vote, every encouraging message and every moment you believed in me.
“It was the greatest honour to represent our beautiful country on one of the biggest stages in the world. This journey has changed my life forever, and I promise this is only the beginning.”
