This could be the song that was almost forgotten.
Having announced the release of the song titled Isoka Lam last year August, one might have thought that the musician neglected the bun in the oven as she went on a hiatus.
South Africa-based Zimbabwean Afro-pop and Maskandi musician, Duduzile Ndlovu, famously known as La Dee has finally released the long-awaited single track amid the Covid-19 crisis.
“Isoka Lam has been long coming, working with South African big names like Lindo in the song Ngithembele kuwe taught me a lot about the industry and I have no doubt that these two songs will be hits,” said La Dee.
The singer who crossed the Limpopo river in 2007, applauds the South African music industry in which she has managed to make a name for herself. She is flying the country’s flag high as she has become a force to reckon with in the Maskandi gospel and Afro-pop genres.
“Putting the blame on corona won’t help, no one asked for it, the brighter side is that this break has afforded us time to write more songs as artistes and to push further on social media so as to keep the fans on their heels.
“It’s tough facing this terrible time as artistes around the world because we depend on gigs and all to make a living, keeping strong and hoping for this to pass is what keeps me going and also Zimbabwean artistes should keep pushing online, Covid-19 mustn’t stop anyone from pursuing their dream,” narrates the soft spoken musician.
