THE Bulawayo Province Pool Association (BPPA) has announced that 19 players competing in the 2026 Provincial League are currently ineligible to participate in mid-season competitions after their contracts expired.
In a statement released by the association, BPPA secretary general Nomore Muzvidziwa said the affected players will remain barred from participating in all mid-season tournaments, including the upcoming Mayez Singles Tournament, until they renew their contracts with the association.
The list comprises players from five clubs, with ZPC Pool Club accounting for the highest number of affected players at 10. Legends Pool Club has four players whose contracts have expired, while Exchange Pool Club has two, Golden Lion Pool Club has two, and Fast Cash Pool Club has one.
Muzvidziwa urged clubs and players to regularize their contractual status without delay to avoid missing important competitions on the provincial calendar.
“The affected players are not eligible to participate in any BPPA mid-season tournaments until their contracts have been renewed. Clubs are encouraged to ensure that all outstanding renewals are completed as soon as possible,” said Muzvidziwa.
The BPPA said the measure is aimed at ensuring compliance with league regulations and maintaining proper player registration records throughout the 2026 season.
The announcement comes as clubs prepare for the highly anticipated Mayez Singles Tournament, one of the major events on the BPPA calendar, where only duly registered and contracted players will be eligible to compete.
Association officials have called on all clubs to work closely with their players to complete the renewal process promptly and avoid unnecessary disruptions to participation in forthcoming competitions
