Nkomo wins Parkview Legends Cup

Nkomo beat Bosso’s Nkululeko Ncube.
The duo of Lethukuthula Nkomo of Parkview Lions and Munyaradzi Dave of Bosso were knocked out in the semi-finals.
Veteran Moses Ndlovu was the first player to hit a 180 and got a prize for that while Sharon Sitsha and Merlin Bafana were the only ladies to reach the quarter-finals before being eventually knocked out of the running.
On Friday, the matches were on a round robin basis with the winners on the day proceeding to the knockout stage the following day.
The tournament was organised as a way of honouring veteran darts players who have given it all for the sport without really getting any financial gain.
The doubles version of the tournament was played earlier this year with ladies, Nancy Mlambo and Susan Chizema shocking their more illustrious male counterparts to emerge winners.
Meanwhile, preparations for the Bulawayo Metropolitan Province Darts Association annual awards to be held this Saturday at Raylton Club are progressing smoothly with organisers making final touches to ensure a successful event.
The night will see league champions Ah-Sat and various outstanding players who performed well during the association’s organised tournaments being presented with prizes.
Ah-Sat retained the trophy they won last year after an almost two horse race with a resurgent Bosso although the Supermed Phamarcy sponsored Bosso later on made some administrative and tactical mistakes which saw them losing some matches which they could have easily won.
The association’s awards night will be preceded by a Raylton darts club end of year party at the same venue.
