Nkulumane Residents Descend on Newly Formed Church for Illegitimate LGBTIQ+ Gathering

Sunday News Reporter

IN a shocking turn of events, residents of Nkulumane in Bulawayo took matters into their own hands after discovering that an all-night vigil organized by the recently established Christian Life Ministries Church was, in fact, an illegal assembly of the LGBTIQ+ community.

Tensions escalated as community members confronted attendees at the vigil, including the church leader identified as Pastor Timothy, a British citizen. The revelation that the gathering was unauthorized and its true nature incited anger and frustration among the residents.

One resident, who preferred to remain anonymous, expressed dismay at the discovery, stating, “We were misled into believing that this was a legitimate church event, only to find out that it was a front for something entirely different. Pastor Timothy and his followers have betrayed our trust and violated our community.”

The situation quickly spiraled out of control as the community turned hostile towards those present at the illegal vigil, leading to an altercation that involved the church leader, Pastor Timothy, and Sibusiso Vuyo Madzwila, the son of a revered late community leader in the suburb, who was beaten to a pulp and had to rushed to hospital to be treated for his injuries.

“As the community we now believe Sibusiso was behind recruiting other youths in the area to be part of this grouping and we are waiting for him to come explain to us what really happened,” said another resident.

In response to the escalating confrontation, the police intervened and reportedly arrested all individuals involved in the unlawful gathering. The incident has left the community in shock and disbelief, raising concerns about the deceptive practices of certain religious groups operating within the neighborhood.

As investigations continue into the motives behind the illicit assembly, residents are calling for transparency and accountability from religious organizations to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of upholding the law and respecting the values of the community in which churches operate.
