No foul play at Trafalgar: Father

Two-year-old Keila Mufaro Churu died on Wednesday afternoon when she fell through a window to the first floor balcony.
Her mother, Mrs Everjoy Churu, who is a senior clerical officer with the City of Harare, was away at work while Mr Livingston Churu was on his way from a funeral in

Kwekwe when the incident occurred.
Mr Churu said he gathered that Mufaro was playing with her brothers in the bedroom when she fell to the first floor.

“As they were playing, Mufaro fell through the window and the brothers did not alert the maid, who only realised the girl was missing when she wanted to feed her around 2.30pm,” he said.
Mr Churu said his daughter’s body was discovered around 4pm and later retrieved by the Fire Brigade after 30 minutes.

“I am shocked by the horrific death of my daughter and do not think the maid had a hand in the death,” he said.
“The maid was part of the family and she is also traumatised by the incident.”

Post-mortem results indicated that the girl had fallen from a high position, resulting in her breaking her neck.
She is expected to be buried today.
