Zhombe, this Friday.
Knowledge Chosa, cousin to the late Utakataka Express frontman, revealed this yesterday.
He said relatives, friends, fellow musicians and fans are expected to converge at Sesombe 2 Extension, Village 6 for the memorial service.
The memorial service comes amid revelations that the deceased’s mother insisted that no one should use her son’s musical instruments before the memorial service.
“The memorial service will start at 6pm on Friday till the next morning.
“We are inviting everyone, including his friends, fans and fellow musicians to come and witness the memorial service of their late beloved musician.
“We are also urging other artistes to come and support the Moyo family during this period.
“Instruments will be connected and we expect musicians to come and remember their departed colleague during the service,” Chosa said.
He said the event would also see the property of the late musician being distributed.

“His (Moyo’s) property will then be distributed among his family and relatives on Saturday morning,” he said.
Chosa confirmed that the decision to hold the memorial service 13 days after Moyo’s death had been prompted by his mother’s demands to hold it earlier.
“She (Moyo’s mother) said the group was not at liberty to perform using his instruments until his memorial service had been held.
“Another reason was that according to tradition, November is not the ideal month for holding such ceremonies and we saw it wise to hold it before November.
“Also, the other thing is that we would want everyone – including his family and band members – to know where they stand and move on from where he left.
“We expect the group (Utakataka Express) to move on as an intact entity with Peter leading them.
“We expect him to take after his father and fill in his shoes,” Chosa said.
After the memorial service, Peter is expected to play in Mhondoro-Ngezi at a show organised by Zimplats, on Saturday night after the memorial service.
On Sunday, Peter and Utakataka Express will be at Mutangadura Hide Out in Ruwa.
Moyo died at St Anne’s Hospital in Harare on October 15 and was buried at his rural home in Zhombe after battling cancer.
