No return to Bosso: Mahachi

MAMELODI Sundowns’ Kudakwashe Mahachi has ruled out a possible return to his boyhood side Highlanders after making a move to the crack South African side mid-season last year.Mahachi was on loan to Bosso from the Brazilians after signing a five-year-deal from Bantu Rovers who themselves had loaned him to Chicken Inn. The 21-year-old, however, could not make an immediate impact as he struggled with a hamstring injury that saw him play just eight games, most from the bench before the South African League took a two-month break due to the 2015 African Nations Cup finals set for Equatorial Guinea.

He played in the Brazilians’ last match before the break where they beat Ajax Cape Town 2-1 with the former Mzilikazi High School pupil providing an assist.

He has been linked with a return to Amahlolanyama for more game time.

“There is no truth in those reports, I am not coming back to Highlanders and if ever Mamelodi Sundonws are to loan me out, I could go to one of the South African clubs because there are many that wanted my services after the Chan tournament,” said Mahachi.

He has previously been linked with a move to Mpumalanga Black Aces or Ajax Cape Town where he could link up with his former Bosso colleague Milton Ncube.

“My stay in South Africa has been okay except for the injury that I suffered but I believe I am on my way to full recovery. I was supposed to be out for a month and a half but my recovery was quick,” said the 2013 Soccer Star of the Year first runner up.

Mahachi is expected to play a key role in the Young Warriors’ 2015 DR Congo Under- 23 African Championship, 2015 Congo Brazzaville All-Africa Games and the Rio 2016 Olympic Games qualifiers.

Qualifiers of the Under-23 African Championship begin in April 2015.

The top three teams of the DR Congo Under-23 African Championship shall qualify for the Olympic Games in Rio in 2016.
