THE nation has been called to resoundingly vote for President Mnangagwa and the ruling Zanu-PF as this is the only party that will safeguard the country’s legacy and independence.
This was said during the party’s Presidential rally and launch of the party’s campaign at Nyele Primary School in Bulilima District, Matabeleland South Province. The launch which coincided with the commemorations of the passing on of the late Vice-President Dr Joshua Nkomo, saw thousands of party supporters from all over the province converging on the school as the party ups its game towards a resounding victory in the August 23 harmonised elections.
Speaking at the rally Vice-President General (Retired) Dr Constantino Chiwenga said President Mnangagwa was the only leader who could assure the nation unity, peace and development. He said with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) declaring that over six million voters had registered to vote in the upcoming elections, the ruling Zanu-PF was targeting a clean sweep of the entire six million votes.

“Today I say unto you, we are busy saying five million votes ED Pfee, but Zec has told us there are six million votes, all these should go to our father, President Mnangagwa. Let’s vote for a peaceful and prosperous nation under President Mnangagwa, let’s vote for economic development under President Mnangagwa. Let us also vote for tolerance for one another, for a better future in our God-given country under President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, let us vote for the revolutionary party in harmony and peace under our President Mnangagwa,” said VP Chiwenga.
He urged Zimbabweans to unite and vote for President Mnangagwa saying he was the only one who could deliver. VP Chiwenga noted that President Mnangagwa’s works were there for everyone to see, judging by the works he had done in the five years since he has been at the helm of the national politics. He said some of the notable projects included ensuring that the nation became food secure, a fete that has been progressive in the past four years.

“We are here to show our leader, President Mnangagwa, we all have seen what he has done in just five years, which is honestly really impressive. We all know about the Tuli-Manyange Dam Project, our roads, clinics and all the other milestone projects. All these projects were done by someone who has love for our nation. Look at the manner our President has managed to take us out of hunger and ensuring that this country becomes food sufficient, this is not a small achievement in itself,” said VP Chiwenga.
The Vice-President said Zanu-PF remained committed to safeguarding the country’s independence at the same time pushing various development projects meant to uplift the lives of Zimbabweans as guided by Vision 2030 of becoming an upper middle-class economy.
VP Chiwenga’s sentiments were also echoed by the party’s Vice-President, Cde Kembo Mohadi who said in his lifetime as a politician he had never witnessed any development in the country as that which was being pushed by President Mnangagwa.

He said as people who were working with President Mnangagwa in his development agenda, they were not only proud but excited by the amount of progress that the country had achieved.
“President Mnangagwa, I will be honest with you, I am from this province and never have I seen such a huge crowd like the one I am seeing today. Similarly, since I have been a politician — and I must tell you, I entered politics at a tender age — I have never seen the amount of development happening in this country like that which I have seen in the past five years.
A good leader is seen through four virtues, virtues which President Mnangagwa has continued to exhibit. A good leader should be with the people, listen to their grievances, learn from the people and also love the people, all of these virtues are embodied within President Mnangagwa,” said Cde Mohadi.
He said President Mnangagwa’s style of leadership showed his intelligence and charisma, noting that all the projects that had been implemented in the past five years were not short-term fly by night projects, but projects that would continue to benefit generations to come.
“We have all heard and also seen for ourselves that Zimbabwe is now food secure, it is not a secret nor is it something which anyone can lie about. We are excited that it is all happening in our lifetime. Dams are being constructed, we have the roads, irrigation schemes, in essence development is happening all around us and it is all because of the efforts being made by President Mnangagwa our God given leader. Therefore, come August 23 let us all vote for the Zanu-PF team being led by President Mnangagwa,” said Cde Mohadi.
