NORTON Town Council has proposed a budget of US$16 950 855,30 for next year.

In her budget presentation held at Norton Town Council, finance committee chair, Councillor Angeline Moyana, said while the budget is indexed using United States dollars, residents will have an option to pay using a currency of their choice in line with Statutory Instrument 118A of 2022.

“The 2026 budget focuses on continuous service delivery improvement while accelerating revenue collection as the rates and service charges remain unchanged,” she said.

“City of Harare has proposed a budget hike in water tariff and introduced a water infrastructure fee of 7,5 percent on water consumption. Council will adopt the approved water tariff and charge ratepayers accordingly.”
