Notorious house-breaking syndicate busted

Police in Kwekwe have arrested three notorious robbers that had been terrorising local residents for the past three months.
The three suspects were using a pistol, iron bars and knobkerries.

At one time they stormed some plots just outside Kwekwe and attacked five homesteads in one night, getting away with cellphones, cash and other valuables.

Midlands provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the arrest of Steward Magutshwa(27) and Master Gwenya(32) (both from Zhombe under Chief Malisa), as well as Peter Tembo(35) from Muzarabani.

“The public is informed that ZRP Kwekwe District has accounted for three suspected robbers for terorrising residents in Amaveni, Kwekwe rural and Redcliff. They were arrested in Gweru Central Business District at the weekend,” said Inspector Mahoko.

He said investigations are in progress, with the suspects helping the police to recover some of the stolen goods,”
