TWO suspected serial armed robbers have been nabbed in Kwekwe.
This follows a spat robberies in Mbizo in the past two months.
John Nyirenda (34) and Munashe Ruvhevhe (24) were arrested in Kwekwe on Monday.
Police say they were hunting for their two accomplices, who are still on the run.
The gang allegedly committed a number of robberies armed with machetes, catapults, knives and other weapons.
“It is said that, during the period extending from July to August, the suspects, John Nyirenda of Mbizo, Kwekwe, and Munashe Ruvhevhe of no fixed abode, and their two accomplices still at large, committed robberies targeting Mbizo.
“It is alleged that the suspects armed with machetes, catapults and knives forcibly entered three different houses and two shops on separate occasions and robbed complainants of cash, cellphones and groceries,” said Midlands province acting police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Fungai Ngawagare.
