Novuyo Seagirl: “They booed me, I shouted at them”

Seagirl had to play tit for tat, as her ego wouldn’t let the Boo-boys get away with it.

Bulawayo’s controversial songstress Novuyo Seagirl has revisited her historical time on stage to mark one year since the day she almost dropped the mic live on stage due to the unforeseen at the 2019 ZITF Shutdown show.

The show which was slated for the 27 of April last year at Queens Sports Club might be Seagirl’s worst nightmare which still haunts her to date.

“So this is the day people threw missiles at me, booed me and I shouted at them,” started Seagirl in a throwback post on her Facebook timeline.

As if that was not enough, the emotional wound had to be worsened by the physical pain of rocking the mic while suffering from a fresh injury.

She continued: “A whole pillar of Durawall fell on me, had to perform with an injury on my ankle nce nce! . . .27 April I will never forget you.”

She lost her cool when the infamous boo-boys pushed her to boundaries, as they rather preferred acts by seasoned names like Winky D and Jah Prayzah at the expense of ambitious local nascents.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, people missed out on performances from South Africa’s Master KG, Winky D, Mambo Dhuterere, Jah Prayzah, Mzoe 7 and Asaph who were supposed to blaze the stage at Queens Sports Club last Saturday for what would have been the ZITF Shutdown show.
