Ntabazinduna depot achieves milestone in recruitment drive

This was revealed during a belated Christmas party held  for the training depot at Umguza Caravan Park on Friday by  the guest of honour, Senior Assistant Commissioner Grace Ndebele.
Senior officers from Morris Training Depot and Chikurubi Training Depot attended the colourful event where the police band provided entertainment.

Snr Asst Comm Ndebele said the achievement was in line with the police force’s target of 50 000 members by 2020.
“The district, with a targeted output for the year at 756, saw 1 277 recruits passing through its doors.
“This is a milestone achievement as the training institution has to strive to give the force its targeted 50 000 members strength by the year 2020,” said Snr Asst Comm Ndebele.

She commended the district for being united in achieving a high pass rate as evidenced by members from the district receiving provincial awards.
“The efforts by all members led to the achievement of the depot pass rate set standard in the year resulting in members from this district receiving awards at provincial level.

“The spirit of togetherness  and team work needs to be kept high,” said Snr Asst Comm Ndebele.
She said the high standards set by Ntabazinduna led to admiration by other arms of the security forces such as the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA).

“The training depot districts and provincial offices have come up with standardised and marvellous station outlook which has drawn admiration from other police provinces as well as Zimbabwe National Army establishments,” said Snr Asst Comm Ndebele.
“I am aware that the year 2011 came with numerous challenges for the district as well as the province, chief among them being shortage of resource books and other training aids for use by training sections, inadequate accommodation for trainers, an unreliable

transport fleet, intermittent electricity  and water supply and inadequate arms and ammunition for  use by both members and recruits in their routine training exercise.
“As commander, I was not turning a blind eye on these challenges but with your  support we turned these challenges into opportunities and soldiered on.”
