NTABAZINDUNA Football Association (Ntafa) will launch the Wolanani Football Tournament at Bulawayo Zifa offices tomorrow after the association, an affiliate of Zifa Bulawayo Area Zones, acquired sponsorship for the six-team event.
Ntafa chairman Nick Ndawana said his committee had worked tirelessly to find a sponsor and will now fulfil its goal of setting up a professional structure.
“As an affiliate to Zifa Bulawayo Area Zones, we are happy to confirm that our house is getting organised as expected by our mother body. Six teams have shown dedication and registered for the tournament, which we’re looking forward to handling in a professional manner,” said Ndawana.
Ntafa became Zifa Bulawayo Area Zones affiliate in January this year and has been one of the most active associations in terms of holding competitive tournaments.
“Participating teams will be competing at Mbembesi Ground next to Mbembesi Police Station. The teams will share R3 000 prize money. There will also be gold medals and silver medals for the two top teams,” he said.
The sponsor, Lovemore Mdlangathi Mtyida, who is based in South Africa, is expected to grace the launch of the tournament.
Zifa Bulawayo Area Zones chairman Charles Chunda applauded the Ntafa leadership for organising competitions.
