THE National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) is hosting the annual National Engineering Students Awards for Research and Innovation (NESARI) awards, where budding engineers from prominent universities and tertiary institutions in the country present their innovative projects.

Running under the theme “Engineering Innovation for a Sustainable Smart Future,” the event aims to highlight the critical role of engineering in addressing the pressing challenges of our time.
The NESARI awards serve as a platform for students to demonstrate their solutions to sustainability issues, emphasising technology’s role in creating smarter and more efficient urban environments.

Participants have developed projects that range from renewable energy solutions to smart waste management systems, all designed to enhance the quality of life while minimizing their ecological footprint.
This year’s event features teams from leading universities and tertiary institutions, fostering a spirit of healthy competition and collaboration where each project is evaluated on its originality, feasibility and potential impact on society.
A panel of judges, consisting of industry experts and academic leaders, will determine the winners, who will receive recognition for their innovative contributions.
