NATIONAL University of Science and Technology (Nust) student Botsi Lyra Noko won the crown in the Miss World Heritage International contest, while 25-year-old Ishmael Isheunesu Murangandi from Midlands State University (MSU) was named the Brand Ambassador Mister World Heritage 2022, held in India recently.
The Miss Heritage Global is an international beauty pageant that focuses on the promotion of diverse heritage. This year’s contest was filled with glamour and intellectual life as the finalists were groomed by top professionals, with Zimbabwe’s representatives flying the country’s flag high.
Vuyisile Mbele, the director at Inffini Talent Management said the competition had been a great occasion for the Zimbabwean participants.
“Botsi and Murangandi are both contestants registered under Inffini Talent Management and this is their first-ever international pageant. They made us proud and we are happy with their achievement”, he said.
Noko won three prizes on top of the Miss World Heritage crown. She bagged the prize for being the most photogenic, having the best national costume and possessing the best physical appearance.
“The next step is to spearhead the brand of the Mr and Miss World Heritage Organisation to greater heights by helping communities preserve their heritage by protecting our environment around the heritage sites and also educating the youths as they are the ones to pass on our heritage to the future generations.
It is our duty to practice unity in diversity and include every culture and tradition from different parts of the world. For good unity promotes peace and a better economy for everyone in the world,” said Mbele.
