THE National University of Science and Technology (Nust) on Friday re-branded the Department of Business Management and launched a stand-alone Marketing department, a move aimed at unlocking value through efficiency and effectiveness of graduates.Speaking during the launch, Nust vice-chancellor Professor Lindela Ndlovu said the internal restructuring was driven by external imperatives to boost competitiveness.
“A new department of Marketing has been introduced which will offer a B Comm Honours in Marketing and an Msc in Marketing.
“The Department of Business Management will now offer a restructured B Comm Honours in Human Resource Management from B Comm Honours degree in Business Management,” said Prof Ndlovu.
He said the academic board supported and approved the initiative to meant to unlock value.
In a speech read on his behalf by Dr Victor Gumbo, Dean of Commerce, Mr Webb Ndlovu said the re-branding was informed by market realities.
“The re-branding will be supported by a restructured curriculum that combines core courses in human resource management with relevant business courses.
“This will create comprehensive, competent, knowledgeable and highly skilled professionals that will add value in commerce and industry,” he said.
