Nutty O and Tamy Moyo, take lead in Star FM Listeners’ Choice Awards

NUTTY O and Tamy Moyo won three awards each at the Star FM Zimbabwe Listeners’ Choice Awards 2021, with Nutty O taking the Song of the Year with Kokai which features Poptain.

The third edition of the Star FM awards took place last Saturday running under the theme #RespectTheHustle. In line with the Covid-19 restrictions, the 2021 Awards ceremony were a virtual production broadcast live on the Star FM Zimbabwe and the Zimpapers Television Network Facebook pages.

The production was near flawless throughout the two- hour show and kept many people glued to their devices. The awards were hosted by Star FM presenters Kudzai Violet “KVG” Gwara and Shingai “Moxinator” Mokina. There were performances from the likes of Kay Chaps of the Juzi Fame, Audius Mutawarira, Poptain and Alana.

Nutty O won, Song of the year, Best Male artiste and Best Zimdancehall Song for the track Safe. Tammy Moyo won Best RnB song for the track Energy she did with Brayn K, Best Collaboration where she featured Jah Prayzah, Kuteera and Best Female.

The Lifetime Achievement Award went to Rozalla Miller a Zambian-born Zimbabwean electronic music performer who was born in what was then Northern Rhodesia, (now Zambia), to a Zimbabwean father.

She later moved with her parents at the age of 18 to her father’s country of origin, Zimbabwe. She is best known for her three 1991/92 hit singles “Faith (In the Power of Love)”, “Are You Ready To Fly” and “Everybody’s Free (To Feel Good)”, which has been remixed and re-issued several times.

In December 2016, Billboard magazine ranked her as the 98th most successful dance artist of all-time. The full list of the awards.
