Dynamos utility player Shadreck Nyahwa says he is impressed with the performances he has shown in the second half of the season after he saw less game time in the first half.
Nyahwa took his goal tally to three goals on Sunday with the equaliser against Chicken Inn at the National Sports Stadium.
Dynamos, who were without their head coach Genesis Mangombe, the duo of captain Frank Makarati and Tanaka Shandirwa who are in Rwanda on national duty managed, to come back from behind to scrap a 2-1 home win.
The win was crucial for DeMbare who are now working to secure the second place position after Mhondoro-based Ngezi Platinum lifted the championship with two games to spare.
Dynamos are now on 54 points and are separated from Manica Diamonds on goal difference and are set to face GreenFuel at home and Yadah away in their last encounters.
“The title has already gone to Ngezi but we keep on fighting for the second position,” said Nyahwa after their Chicken Inn encounter.
“I am just happy with today’s goal. It came against one of my hometown teams and it just made me feel good, you know I am from Bulawayo.
“We were down and we kept on motivating each other and we found ourselves coming to be on top of the game once again and managed to collect maximum points.
“So it was important for us as we now focus on finishing strong in all our remaining games.
Nyahwa believed the morale support and mentorship from other senior players has helped him a lot to be ready each time he is called to do duty.
“In the first half, I wasn’t playing but as a player, you have to understand how big the squad is, you can’t all play at once.
“We have to play as a team and help each other with our different attributes and let the team win.
“In the second half of the season when I started playing I have been doing well and I want to thank my teammates who have been helping me a lot to improve.
I have a lot of seniors here and they also help me in boosting my confidence.
“In our next league game against GreenFuel, we hope to replicate the performances we put in the second half and we hope to continue with the winning streak as we still have an important cup match ahead,” he said.
