MR Mufakose senior men bodybuilding defending champion Andrew “Ndux” Nyamandi is confident of retaining his title at Rutendo Hall this afternoon.

He won the tournament last year when it made a grand return from a 14-year hiatus defeating nine other athletes who had taken to the stage.

“I am looking forward to the contest and I am very hopeful that I will defend my title. I did not have much to practice for it because of work commitments but I am in the right frame.

“It will be a challenge considering that most athletes have been preparing for the Givemore Marume Classic set for next weekend so they are in great form.

“I am grateful to the organisers who have seen some district contests resuscitated,” said Nyamandi. Preparations for Mufakose Bodybuilding and Modelling contest have gathered momentum.  Mr and Ms Mufakose Bodybuilding and Modelling contest was revived last year through a trust that is seeking to revive both the sport and the Mufakose community gym.

Masarira “General” Silingwani one of the organisers of the tournament said the stage is set and everyone is looking forward to tomorrow’s) today’s contest.

“We are happy to be hosting the second edition of the Mr and Ms Mufakose Bodybuilding and Modelling contest at Rutendo community gym. The registration will end tomorrow morning (today) and we are looking forward to a better turnout than last year.

The trust has gained confidence of some individuals and business people from the Mufakose community like New Horizon Pharmacy and LM Auctions, Quantum Holdings, Mini Taxis and Tours, Fitness Physique and Supplement Factory among several others.
