Nyamandi keeps Four Brothers legacy alive

The album comes barely a year after the death of Frank Sibanda – the only surviving director of the Four Brothers outfit.
Nyamandi became the provisional lead vocalist of the Four Brothers following the death of Marshall Munhumumwe.
On the latest six-track album, Nyamandi is as hot as ever with his voice and beat reminding listeners of that of the late singer Munhumumwe who mentored him.
Recorded at Diamond Studios, the album revolves around a number of social issues like love for one’s family, forgiveness, living in harmony with one’s in-laws, alcohol abuse and true love.
It opens with the song “Chengetai Hama Dzangu” in which a man pleads with the world to look after his relatives when he dies.
“Dzorai Moyo” urges people to have second thoughts when they make their decisions over others while “Maramba Doro” is about a man who loses his dignity because of alcoholism.
“Hama Dzemukadzi”, “Makunakuna” and “Rudo Harumanidzi” make up the rest of the playlist.
This is one of the best albums ever to emerge from Diamond Studios this year after First Farai’s “Pahasha (Love Market)” among others.
Nyamandi first recorded the album “Zvehama” with the Four Brothers way back in 2002.
“I was inspired by the late Munhumumwe’s music and it is my mission to revive the beat that he founded,” Nyamandi said.
Backed by the Four Brothers, Nyamandi released a number of albums like “Fiona”, “Masalad” and “Zvauri Ndozvauri” with his own group, Makombe Brothers.
