Mr Edgar Sadoma of Nyanga has won a brand-new white Hyundai i10 after emerging as the grand winner in the Coca-Cola FIFA World Cup promotion.

The vehicle, sponsored by Delta Corporation, was officially handed over to Mr Sadoma during a colourful ceremony held at the company’s headquarters in Harare this morning.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Delta Sparkling Beverages marketing executive Dr Claybough Mapfumo said the promotion attracted more than 1.3 million entries.

He congratulated Mr Sadoma and his wife, Mrs Clementine Nyamundanda, on winning the vehicle and urged them to make good use of the prize while observing road safety.

The promotion was part of Coca-Cola’s FIFA World Cup campaign, giving consumers across the country an opportunity to win various prizes.

“It is a pleasure to be here today as we celebrate a very special handover of the Coca-Cola World Cup promotion vehicle to our deserving grant winner. It was a tough and stiff competition indeed, but here he is reaping the fruits,” Dr Mapfumo said.

“Today is about more than receiving the keys to a vehicle. It is about turning an ordinary consumer moment into an extraordinary experience.”

He said Coca-Cola has always had a unique relationship with football and in Zimbabwe, it has been associated with the COPA Coca-Cola games.

“Football brings people together across generations, communities and borders, and the FIFA World Cup captures that spirit perhaps better than any other sporting event,” Dr Mapfumo said.

“Through this promotion, we wanted our consumers to experience some of that excitement, anticipation and possibility here at home.”

He thanked all consumers who participated in the promotion, thereby giving their brands meaning.

Mr Sadoma said he was quite happy with the prize and would put it to good use.

“I used to buy Coca-Cola almost every day because I’m an addict, and I would take the code and enter and some of my workmates used to laugh at me. Little did I know that the addiction would earn me this super brand-new car.”
