YOUNG Nyasha Bako’s journey of turning into a fully-fledged professional female footballer took some significant steps when she successfully completed another five-day training camp with the Paris Saint-Germain Academy at Fleetwood near Blackpool in England recently.
PSG Academy runs a number of development camps in the UK which brings together aspiring talented young male and female footballers from around the world who will be taught the basic skills of the most beautiful game by qualified junior football coaches from the France-based academy.
Fourteen-year-old Bako, a Form Two pupil at Chisipite Girls High School in Harare, attended her first PSG Academy training camp during their Easter training at Hopwood Hall in Manchester, England, in April this year where she received some rave reviews from the academy’s coaches who were surprised by the talent displayed by the young Zimbabwean player.
Since then there have been several inquiries about Bako who exhibited some incredible athleticism during that PSG Academy Easter training camp in Manchester.
And only last week, Bako was back at training with the PSG Academy when they held their latest round of their year-round training camps in England where they spot some talented young players whose dreams are turning into fully-fledged professional players in Europe.
This time the PSG Academy development programme was held at Rossall School at Fleetwood near the city of Blackpool where Bako once again excelled and received a 100 percent passing mark from the academy’s director Jean-Claude Blanc.
In his review, Blanc said Bako, who received an official certificate/diploma from PSG Academy, has “for sure improved her mental performance this week!”
“She was only one of only six girls on the training camp but she didn’t let this influence her from shining. At first, Nyasha was quite reserved and quiet, however as the week commenced, her bubbly personality shone through and helped her feel more comfortable on the pitch.
“However, still at times she lacks a bit of mental resilience whilst completing drills, but has shown great development in this area and has worked really hard on improving her mental resilience,” Blanc said in his review of Bako’s performance during the recent PSG Academy training camp in England.
Bako is the young sister to Zimbabwe’s motocross champion rider, Emmanuel Bako, and they are both managed by their father, Emmanuel “Bucks” Bako, who could not hide his excitement after his daughter’s latest remarkable achievement during a PSG Academy training camp in the UK.
“Nyasha is a really talented footballer and her dream is to become a full-time professional female player in Europe and she is really determined to do that.
“The recent PSG Academy training camp was another eye-opener for her and I’m glad the academy’s coaches were really impressed by her technical abilities.”
