OUTGOING Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp believes 16-year-old Zimbabwean midfielder, Trey Nyoni will soon get a chance to play for the English Premiership giants.

Nyoni was an unused substitute on Sunday as Liverpool beat Chelsea 1-0 after extra time to win the Carabao Cup, also known as the League Cup, at Wembley.

Speaking after the match, Klopp said he was happy with the development of the Liverpool Academy players who have been promoted to the first team.

He added they could have brought in Nyoni as well and he stood a good chance to play.

“And the other kids out there which we could have brought on as well. (Lewis) Koumas and Trey (Nyoni) and stuff like that. Some we left at home, Kaide [Gordon], so it’s just nice to partner these boys in these moments.
