The two-day post 2023 election review conference must objectively evaluate all elements of last year’s general poll with a view to improving future plebiscites, Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Deputy Minister Nobert Mazungunye said on Tuesday.

He made the remarks while officially opening the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission multi-stakeholder review conference at Troutbeck Resort.

Deputy Minister Mazungunye commended ZEC for affording stakeholders an opportunity to take stock of the 2023 general elections.

“This kind of evaluation allows an open and inclusive exercise, gathering information from all participants and using the opportunity to review actions which may have been taken at an administrative level and which may require change,” he said.

He applauded ZEC and the delegates for organising and participating in the conference saying the last election should be used as a starting point to prepare for the next election.
