O’Donoghue finishes 27th in Latvia

ZIMBABWE’S Rachel O’Donoghue made her debut at the 2026 Europe Triathlon Junior Cup in Jurmala, Latvia, on Saturday.

The 16-year-old placed 27th in the junior women’s race in one hour, three minutes and 35 seconds.

A total of 38 athletes started the sprint-distance race, which featured a 750m swim, a 19.1km bike ride and a 5km run.

Of the 38 starters, 37 completed the race.

France’s Maelis Rolin won in 59 minutes and 44 seconds.

The junior men’s title went to France’s Gaspard Chabanel, who crossed the line in 52 minutes and 35 seconds.
