RACHEL O’DONOGHUE is set to return to action on Saturday when she takes part in the 2026 Europe Triathlon Junior Cup Jurmala in Latvia.
Following the cancellation of the Junior Cup race in Moletai, Lithuania, O’Donoghue will be hoping to finally test herself against some of the leading European junior women when she takes to the starting line on Saturday.
The race in Jurmala will feature a bigger field, with 39 entries in the junior women’s category.
Last Saturday’s Cup event was cancelled due to bad weather.
However, the local coordinators organised an unofficial race the following day for participants to at least have a feel of competition.
The junior men’s race is expected to feature 61 athletes, and course familiarisation is scheduled for Friday.
O’Donoghue’s European tour is part of her preparations for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games from October 31 to November 13.
