IN Africa, one of the most unpredictable interactions is that between the mother-in-law and her daughter-in-law.
From cerebral warfare to, sometimes, witchcraft, this proverbial relationship can strengthen or break nuptial bonds.
This subject has been explored by local recording stable, “Offkey Records” after featuring artistes Scarrah and Alloe in a song titled, “Umamezala”.
The song, mixed and mastered by Ray_zw, and produced by Fuel The Don highlights a dramatic conflict between a mother-in-law and her daughter-in-law, leaving the man in limbo as to which path to take to solve the debacle.
In an interview with Chronicle Showbiz, Ray_zw said the collaboration was both a challenge and an honour for him.
“Working on this project was challenging. Mostly because getting them to really interact with each other to create one solid song wasn’t a stroll in the park. From the producer to the artistes involved, the experience was crazy but also an honour as these creative minds are one of the most talented in the city,” he said.
Umamezala is plucked out of a collaborative album titled, “B.O.A.T”. It features various artistes, and producers which include Kuly Tangu, Rockie DoUb, KidThrill, Noma, Fuel The Don, CTL and MKBeats. – @MbuleloMpofu
