Renowned yesteryear Zimbabwean TV presenter John “Mzala” Phiri recently received a US$500 shopping voucher from OK Zimbabwe Limited, a gesture that underscored the retailer’s appreciation for Phiri and his contributions to the media industry.
The Trolley for Trolley Challenge, a community-driven initiative by OK Zimbabwe Limited, has significantly impacted the Glen View community, bringing joy to local shoppers and fostering a stronger bond within the neighbourhood.
Phiri, a revered figure in Zimbabwe’s broadcasting industry, is best known for his work on the popular ZBC shows “Ezomgido” and “Mutinhimira weMumhanzi”.
The recognition comes at a crucial time as Phiri recently faced health challenges following a stroke that affected his speech.
The voucher presentation on Saturday was a heartfelt tribute to his enduring legacy in the Zimbabwean media landscape.
Phiri remains a loyal customer of OK Zimbabwe Limited, frequently shopping at the OK Makomva branch in Glen View. This long-standing relationship strengthened OK Zimbabwe Limited’s resolve to honour him.
