Old Georgians win big

OLD Georgians were the biggest winners as the 2019 Harare Rugby League Under-21 Championships got underway on Saturday with a 118-0 defeat of Yadah at Old Hararians Sports Club.

The Dragons led their youthful opponents 77-0 at the break.

Harare Rugby League have two groups, A and B, who will play in a round robin format. Captain of the day, eighthman Deanne Makoni, was inspirational for the hosts.

Old Georgians now lead Group B which also has Southern City from the dormitory town of Chitungwiza.

Southern City defeated Mbare Select 75-5 in another one sided affair. Old Hararians fell to Alex Sports Club 33-10 while Mabvuku were awarded five points after Ancient City failed to turn up for their contest.

In Group A, XP Horns are leading the race after they defeated Mufakose 97-0 at Belgravia Sports Club. Defending champions Pitbulls massacred Harare Sports Club 77-0 at the Nigel Phillip Field.
