OLIVER MTUKUDZI: Afro-Jazz music icon dies at 66

A dark cloud has engulfed Zimbabwe as legendary musical icon Oliver Mtukudzi has died!

He was 66 years.

According to close sources Tuku as he was known died this afternoon at the Avenues Clinic in Harare.

Details are sketchy but Tuku seemed to have been in ICU when he passed on.

A source close to the family confirmed Tuku’s death saying the family will issue a statement soon.

“It is true that Oliver Mtukudzi has died. He was in a very bad state in ICU. The family will issue a statement to confirm soon,” said a source close Tuku’s to the family.

Tuku died exactly a year after his friend South African icon Hugh Masekela passed on.
