THE Hockey Association of Zimbabwe has announced provisional squads for both the men and women’s squads that will represent the country at the forthcoming African Olympic qualifiers in South Africa next month. The qualifiers will be conducted by International Hockey Federation in conjunction with the Africa Hockey Federation and in liaison with South African Hockey Association and they are set to kick off at the Randburg Stadium, South Africa from 24 October to 1 November.
Initially, the qualifiers were set for Ismalia in Egypt, but were later moved to South Africa by the AHF.

Colin Williams is the men’s team head coach, while Tongai Mukwewa will assist him. The women’s side is under the tutelage of Eddie Chiringa.
In a bid to fine tune the national teams, the national association will stage the HAZ Cup at Khumalo Hockey Stadium on Saturday and Sunday. More than five teams in the men’s category are expected to participate in the annual competition, while the women’s section will only have four teams.

Kalpesh Parshotam and Coleen Natival are the two managers for the men and women’s sides respectively.
The budget for the qualifiers has been set at $30 000.
