SOUTH AFRICA-BASED Afro-tech and Amapiano sensation Nizhe De Soul, affectionately known as the Minister of Monate, is on the road to full recovery following a car accident in South Africa on March 15.
According to his team, the accident resulted in severe, life-threatening injuries that required extensive hospitalisation and critical care. Two months on, Nizhe De Soul has not only pulled through but is already planning his return to the stage with a special event titled “Road to the 8th Annual Nizhe De Soul and Friends Chillout Market”, set for May 31, at Marvel House in Killarney, Bulawayo. He will then head to Victoria Falls for the Vic Falls Food and Wine Festival on June 1.
Marking a personal milestone earlier this month, the artiste took to Facebook to express his gratitude and announce his comeback plans.
“Today marks exactly two months since the devil and its agents tried to take my life, but obviously God’s favourite is still intact, like nothing ever happened. I’m outside, out here planning for the coolest show. Thank you for your support, prayers and positive energy. I’m here! I never left. Trust God,” he wrote.
In an interview, Nizhe De Soul shared that he is adjusting well to the recovery process.
“As an active and energetic artist, it hasn’t been easy, but I’ve been coping well and following each step in the recovery plan. At this rate, I’m confident I’ll be fit by the time my doctor estimates full recovery,” he said.
Now preparing for his signature Chillout Market event, Nizhe De Soul is determined to make this year’s edition bigger and better.
“We’re doing everything we did for the 7th edition last December — and then some more. Fans can expect a mix of rising stars and established acts,” he said.
Joining Nizhe De Soul on stage will be Da Kudu and Kbrizzy, DJ Sfiso, Djembe Monks, Ryan Synth, DJ Tino, DJ Liz, Cue Macafinol, Umlungu Omnyama, Boy Nino, Bryce DJ Klasiq, DJ Dash SA, Eazy Vert DJ, Just Drey, George Verdaman B2B Blessfamous, DatBoiFresh, DJ Crazy Dee, DJ La Soul, and Ngu Staffa Lo.
In keeping with the event’s tradition of discovering and nurturing fresh talent, Nizhe De Soul added:
“This platform has always been about supporting up-and-coming talent. Some of today’s fan favourites got their break at this event years ago and have remained loyal to it. This could be the breakthrough moment for someone new.”
