On February 6, 1959, Leonard Musorowenyoka Dembo, was born in Chivi, Masvingo. His given name was Kwangari Gwaindepi and was to form and front the Barura Express. Hitting the airwaves with Vhenenzia, Dembo was to be a constant on Zimbabwe’s playlist for much of the 80s and 90s, until his demise on April 9, 1996. His most acclaimed song was Chitekete.
