One dies, four injured after vehicle veers off the road and hits tree

One person died while four were injured after a Toyota Camry vehicle veered off the road and hit a tree.

The accident occurred at the six-kilometre peg along Dombo -Nyanga Road around 12pm on Sunday.

In a statement on X police said: “One person was killed while four others were injured when a Toyota Camry motor vehicle with four passengers on board veered off the road and hit a tree on 28th January 2024 at around 1200 hours.”

Police said the body of the victim was taken to Nyanga District Hospital mortuary for post-mortem while the injured were admitted at the same hospital.

Police urged the motoring public to exercise patience and caution when travelling on the country’s roads.
