One dies in Zupco head-on collision

One person died on the spot while six others were injured when a car collided head on with a Zupco commuter omnibus along the Kwekwe -Redcliff Road.

The driver of a Toyota Alex died on the spot while the six injured were all in the commuter omnibus.

Midlands police spokesperson,  Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the accident which happened on Wednesday evening.

“I can confirm that police are investigating an accident where one person died and six others were injured at the Drive Inn Turnoff along the Kwekwe-Redcliff Road,” said Insp Mahoko.

He said the six injured were rushed to Kwekwe General Hospital.

Insp Mahoko urged motorists to adhere to all traffic regulations.

“I urge all motorists to exercise caution when driving and also to adhere to all road traffic regulations to avoid unnecessary loss of lives,” he said.
