ORLANDO Pirates head coach Roger de Sa has rubbished reports that former Warriors striker Nyasha Mushekwi who is in the books of Absa Premier Soccer League team Mamelodi Sundowns but on loan in Belgium is one of the key players they are keen to sign.Pirates are keen to beef up their squad in preparation for the title chase.
The Caf Champions League finalists’ coach whose side is playing catch up in the Premier League programme after lagging behind due to their Champions League campaign said he was aware that team chairman Irvin Khoza is negotiating with a few players to strengthen the squad.
De Sa denied that they were keen on Mushekwi.
The former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper said: “I’m overwhelmed to see my players return in high spirits after a short break, really I’m amazed all of them have high hopes to see the team start collecting maximum points and to contest for the championship.
“We can’t promise anything great as we have not yet played any official games. To me winning games is my aim at the club, the question you asked of becoming champions in the domestic league will be answered when we have played a few games in the second half of the season.”
