ALEX Orotomal wants Dynamos to play in the CAF Champions League football.
The big Nigerian striker, who signed for the Glamour Boys early this year, made it clear that he was here to play continental football. But the situation is not ideal for that as the Glamour Boys are six points adrift of leaders FC Platinum going into match-day 27 this weekend.
DeMbare face off against Black Rhinos at Vengere tomorrow knowing only a win will help them sustain their push for the league title.
Orotomal said his teammates are ready for the battle against Rhinos.
“We need to be ruthless against Black Rhinos. We know we are not going to have it out own way. Black Rhinos are a good team and they are still to lose at Vengere this season,” said Orotomal.
“We should go out there, throw everything into the match and try to salvage a positive result.
“We are ready to play our best game, ready to pounce on them and see what happens.
“We know we are six points behind the leaders and the leaders also play a day before us possibly putting more pressure on us. But we should up our game and see what happens.
“Definitely we want to play in the CAF Champions League although we know we need to be at our best given it’s not in our hands.”
The burley striker has scored just one goal in the 22 goals he has played for the Glamour Boys.
“I just want to win trophies and play CAF Champions League with Dynamos and bring back the lost glory for the team,” Orotomal said.
“I love to score but you know this is my first season and I am still trying to understand the team and I am quite happy if goals are coming from my other teammates that is more important. The most important thing is for the team to win and get results so if we win, the team, the board members and the fans are happy.
“I think I have done enough so far because I am always trying my best. The coach is pushing everyone to always be on top of their game. The most important thing is three points,” the 23-year-old striker said.
Before Dynamos can plunge into battle against the army side, FC Platinum have a chance to extend their lead when they face Whahwa at Ascot today.
Elsewhere, CAPS United face Tenax at the National Sports Stadium tomorrow while Highlanders host Triangle at Barbourfields.
Bulawayo City are at home to Cranborne Bullets today while Harare City and ZPC Kariba play at the National Sports Stadium today.
Meanwhile, Herentals and Yadah played a goalless draw at the giant facility yesterday.
The Students twice came closer to scoring with man of the match Tino Benza crashing his effort against the crossbar in the opening moments.
They should have scored in the second half but Prince Chama failed to beat Panashe Nyabunga’s post.
Nevertheless Herentals stretched their unbeaten run in the league to eight and stayed well in contention for their top-four target.
