Paid in pain: Trio savagely beats man for failure to load songs on flash

INFURIATED by his alleged failure to encrypt their songs on a flash drive, three men ganged up and savagely assaulted the man they had paid for the task.

This was heard when Alphios Mdlongwa (30), Patrick Manyavi (28) and Wayne Sibanda (26) appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Ernest Muzembi facing an assault charge.

They pleaded not guilty but they were convicted and each was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment.

Eight months were suspended from each sentence on condition of good behaviour and the remaining four months were further suspended on condition that they each complete 289 hours of community service.

In coming up with the sentence, the magistrate said the trio wasted the court’s time by denying a clear case they faced.

The magistrate said the medical report showed that the complainant Gregory Love Joy Ncube suffered serious injuries as a result of the attack.

The magistrate further noted that there was a possibility the trio could have killed Ncube as they took turns to indiscriminately assault him.
