AN influential panel of speakers will examine current trends in women’s sport through a Women in Sport Seminar which takes place at Coghlan Primary School in Bulawayo today.
The event is organised by the Sport and Recreation Ministry as part of International Women’s Day celebrations.
Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) Bulawayo officer Rita Kutsirayi said the seminar, which is free of charge has got a stellar line up of guest speakers.
“Women sport has been developing over the years and we have seen more women being involved. We therefore call upon everyone to come and support this programme especially those who are involved in sport. Sports associations are expected to come as they will be taught on how to attract sponsors in their different sporting disciplines,” said Kutsirayi.
She said the event also seeks to empower women with skills on how to stay active and about being treated equally in sport by the media, governing bodies, clubs, coaches and mentors.
