Panthers thrash OMs

WESTERN Panthers hammered Old Miltonians 34-5 in a Matabeleland Rugby Board Zimbo Under-20 Cup semi-final match at Hartsfield Rugby Ground at the weekend.Panthers will now face Busters in the final match of the tournament.

Busters were too strong for Bulldogs winning  45-14.

Busani Ncube, the Panthers coach said he was happy with the team’s performance against Old Miltonians.

“I think the guys played very well, Old Miltonians are not any easy team to beat, the boys put up an excellent performance on the offensive and played  a fast paced tactical game which proved hard to contain,” he said.

Ncube said they will up their preparations for the final against Busters this coming weekend.

“We’ll not take any team lightly, if they managed to get this far it means that they are very good, so we’ve started preparing for the final, we’re in it to win,” Ncube said.

The champions of the tournament will be awarded a MRB floating trophy, medals and prizemoney with some outstanding players getting individual awards.

Meanwhile, losers Bulldogs and Old Miltonians   are expected to be at their best as they fight for third place.

Bulldogs have not won a single match in the tournament and are therefore desperate for a win.
