ZIMBABWE’S largest beverages producer, Delta Corporation says acquisition of its parent firm, SABMiller by Belgian-American firm, Anheuser-Busch InBev in a mega $100 billion deal, will not in any way affect the operations of the company.
The two giant beverages producers — Anheuser-Busch InBev and SABMiller — reached a deal to establish the world’s biggest beer company late last year and have since then been going through the necessary regulatory approvals in countries and stock exchanges on which they are listed.
The final approval was obtained in England last week, putting the seal of approval on the establishment of an enlarged firm that will be known as Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV.
Delta Corporation said it was likely the transaction will be completed by today.
“Delta Corporation has been an associate of SABMiller and will become an associate of the new enlarged entity,” said the local beverages manufacturer.
“We do not anticipate any material changes to the current relationship between Delta and the combined group following completion of the AB InBev’s recommended combination with SABMiller.”
The enlarged group will be headquartered in Leuven, Belgium and listed on Euronet Brussels, the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and Mexico Stock Exchange. Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV will control over 30 percent of the global beer market. — New Ziana
