The Clerk of Parliament, Mr Kennedy Mugove Chokuda, has hailed this year’s edition of the Annual Parliament of Zimbabwe Charity Golf Tournament as a success.

The tournament, now in its seventh year, aims to raise funds for underprivileged members of the community.

Proceeds from this year’s event will be directed to an old people’s home in Gwanda, Matabeleland South.

“This is our seventh annual charity golf tournament where we raise funds for the underprivileged members of society. This year, we are targeting an old people’s home in Gwanda,” said Mr Chokuda.

He said beneficiaries rotate across the country’s provinces.

“We change provinces every year. It is one way for Parliament to give back to society, as you can appreciate that Parliament is made up of representatives of the people. This is how we identify with communities and give back,” said the Clerk of Parliament.

Mr Chokuda also praised the response received by the tournament.

“We would like to thank the sponsors who came on board and made the event a success. Without them, it would not have been possible,” he said.
