Parliament summoned for 2014 Budget presentation

Harare Bureau
President Mugabe has summoned Parliament for the presentation of the 2014 National Budget on December 19, 2013.
The budget statement, traditionally presented in November, was delayed to allow the Finance and Economic Development Ministry to make wider consultations.
In a statement yesterday, Clerk of Parliament Austin Zvoma said President Mugabe summoned Parliament to attend Finance and Economic Development Minister Patrick Chinamasa’s budget statement presentation.

“The Clerk of Parliament would like to inform all members of Parliament that pursuant to Section 146 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, President Mugabe has summoned Parliament to sit on the 19th of December 2013,” Zvoma said.

He said Parliament would attend to any other business related to the budget statement.
Parliament had adjourned last week until January 28, 2014.
