THERE is a need for close collaboration between Zanu PF and those of its members elected into Government to ensure a successful implementation of the party manifesto which is people-centred, Zanu PF national Political Commissar Cde Mike Bimha has said.
Speaking at a workshop organised for secretaries for economic affairs by the Harare provincial leadership, Cde Bimha said there is a need to make sure the needs of the people are met.
The meeting was attended by Zanu PF Harare provincial chairman Cde Godwills Masimirembwa, his vice chairman Cde Ephraim Fundukwa and others in the provincial leadership.
The secretaries for economic affairs raised concern over fast rising prices and fluctuation of the exchange rate among other challenges facing the general public.
Representatives from the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, Women’s Bank and Youth Empower Bank also attended the meeting to address the concerns of the people but they failed to convince the party leadership.
“Our President is a listening leader who always listen to the people despite their rank and file in society. He is man who believe in addressing the concerns of the people,” said Cde Bimha. The President had set up banks mandated to give loans to the people such as the Women’s Bank and the Youth EmpowerBank to cater for those who want to start their business.
He said those in Government should work towards the implementation of 2021 party manifesto. “There is need to ensure there is collaboration between those deployed in Government and the party. We should move with one voice to achieve our goals of fulfilling vision 2030,” he said.
He called upon party members to register to vote ahead of the 2023 harmonised elections. “Party supporters should be registered voters. We want the party and its Presidential candidate President Mnangagwa to win resoundingly. We want the President to complete his projects which are people centred,”.
The President is currently working on infrastructure development in the country. “We want the President to remain in office for another term to complete his developmental projects which are taking shape across the country such as road rehabilitation, dam construction, revitalising some companies such as Ziscosteel among others,” he said.
He called for the removal of sanctions which are derailing the growth of the country’s economy.
Zanu PF Harare provincial secretary for economic affairs Cde Blessing Chimanga said there was need for close collaboration between the party and those in Government to ensure the party’s manifesto is fully implemented to ensure a resounding victory in the 2023 harmonised elections.
He said effective collaboration was integral in turning around the fortunes of the country’s economy which has been a subject of battering from Western capitals through their local opposition stooges.
“Our First Secretary of the party President Mnangagwa has been consistent that the party is superior to Government. It is therefore imperative that those whom we have deployed to work in unison with the party particularly in steering the economy” said Cde Chimanga.
He said the party needed to support the President’s vision of making Zimbabwe a middle income economy by 2030.
