adminIt emerged that Pasuwa has been given a three-match ultimatum, starting with yesterday’s game in which to prove that he is worthy of remaining at the helm of the Dynamos dressing room.
That ultimatum was also extended to Pasuwa’s lieutenants Tonderai Ndiraya, goalkeeper’s coach Tichaona Diya and team manager Richard Chihoro.
Sources revealed last night that the Dynamos executive is divided over the issue of the coach with chairman Kenny Mubaiwa and secretary-general Ray Kazembe supportive of Pasuwa’s extended stay in charge.
But the trio of vice-chairman Webster Chikengezha and committee members Nyika Chifamba and Simon Sachiti have allegedly been vocal against the coach and was
the entire technical department fired.
“Pasuwa is currently under immense pressure from within the executive and has been given the three games against Quelaton, Blue Rangers and the Confederation Cup reverse fixture against InterClube in Angola to prove himself.
“The ultimatum was announced at the crisis meeting held between the technical crew and the executive.
“So this win against Quelaton is one result that has bought the coach more time and he will be under the spotlight again when they play Blue Rangers,’’ said the source.
The Dynamos players are also understood to be aware of the ultimatum given to their coach and defender David Kutyauripo’s winner in yesterday’s game went some way to atone for their boring display against InterClube.
Mubaiwa is however, understood to be of the opinion that the coach should be supported with the acquisition of more players during the mid-season transfer window which opened on Sunday.
Dynamos would also have to brace for a tough time with the imminent departures of the key trio of Orlando Pirates-bound striker Takesure Chinyama, goalkeeper Washington Arubi who I linked with a move to Pretoria University and midfielder Denver Mukamba.
Mukamba who is serving a two-match suspension for the red card he received in the 1-0 by defeat Harare City, returned to Johannesburg yesterday for the final leg of his trial stint at Bidvest Wits. DeMbare are likely to get an indication by the weekend whether Wits coach Roger De Sa will take Mukamba on board but indications are that the Warriors midfielder has impressed at the South African club and there is now a strong possibility of a deal being thrashed out.
