Payserv tourney begins

IT  will be showtime for the Financial Services Soccer League this weekend when the Paynet Cup tournament springs into life at the ZB Bank Sports Club in Harare today.

The tournament, which brings together teams from the financial sector — mainly the banks and insurance companies — will have 2017 winners ZB Life battling to defend their title amid intense pressure from rivals such as Old Mutual, CABS, FBC and Stanchart. “It is always a pleasure hosting such events where staff members from various financial institutions get to interact through sport.

“This year’s edition comes albeit, some challenges in the economy and Payserv is hailed for its continued support after agreeing to shelve the 2018 gala to a pre-season tournament in 2019.
