THE seven parents, who were arrested at Prince Edward High School for disorderly conduct on Monday, were released pending investigations.
Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed their release.
“The parents were released as police continue to investigate with a view to ascertain what actually happened,” said Insp Chakanza.
Prince Edward High School has been making headlines for the wrong reasons lately.
Some parents recently called for the removal of the headmaster, Agrippa Sora, accusing him of a number of issues.
Recently, some parents sent a petition to the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education calling for investigations into Prince Edward High School headmaster.
They claimed they was alleged abuse of funds at the top school.
The SDC chairperson, only identified as Pastor Chris, was also targeted by the petition.
Amid all this ocean of negativity, Prince Edward did not host one of its flagship events – the national schools’ rugby festival – this year.
Some sources claimed the negative headlines, which have been associated with the school of late, could have played a part in the decision by some of the traditional sponsors to withhold their backing of the rugby jamboree.
In sharp contrast, there was huge corporate backing of a junior rugby festival, which was held at St George’s College.
