People of faith are people of sensitivity, belief

Bishop B. Manjoro Dunamis
In the last instalment we spoke of people of faith as people of purpose. Looking at the story of Ruth and Naomi, we discovered that faith is ignited and propelled by purpose. Ruth had a purpose in Israel and Orpar didn’t have. She wasn’t a bad person but just had no purpose in Israel with the people of God. Today we will dig deeper and see what else makes men and women of faith who they are; what makes them stand, what makes them different. Hebrews 11 is full of these great men and women. You can be one of them too, yes you can! Read on and discover how people of faith are propelled and moved forward by two more things, sensitivity and belief.

“And they lifted up their voice, and wept again: and Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave unto her. And she said, Behold, thy sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law. And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the Lord do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me.” Ruth 1:14-17

I remember hinting last week that a faith person must be a very sensitive person. For example you know women are naturally very sensitive around the house and in most places more than men. They can smell what men can’t smell. In church, in bus, at work they can smell it if you missed a bath or didn’t change socks. O hallelujah! My prayer is if only we could have and extend that sensitivity also in the things if the spirit and life issues. We would have a community of men and women who make right choices and right decisions in life.

You see years back whilst in the rural areas hunting if you see your dog lifting up its nose and following a scent be careful, be very ready something is about to come up. An animal would be around somewhere and you would need to hold your hunting weapon firm. That’s sensitivity! It may not sound nice but I pray that all believers be like dogs! But Bishop that we be like dogs? O hallelujah yes, with regard to sensitivity let’s be like dogs. Nothing just comes or just happens without picking a scent. Faith people are not cats. No. Cats only see something with its eyes when it has actually arrived but not with dogs. Without even seeing; dogs know something is going on. O I like it, I like it faith people walk by faith and not by sight! I challenge you today, in your walk of faith; be very sensitive. Sense your child pass, sense your husband coming back home, sense your business growing again, sense you healing and your miracle before you see it! Don’t be dead before you are dead. Don’t give up, don’t surrender! Ruth sensed destiny, Orpar didn’t pick it. People of faith are people of sensitivity!

Secondly in walking by faith your belief is very important. A faith man or woman must believe.

You must believe God, you must believe yourself. We saw that Naomi was so discouraged, but what she didn’t know is that she had fulfilled her purpose. Her purpose was to bring Ruth to Israel. I believe there were times that Naomi had Bible study times with her daughters in love. Otherwise how could Ruth know and say your God will be my God, your people will be my people?

In Moab they had many gods. But Ruth believed the true God of Israel and she also believed in herself. Many people suffer from this thing and don’t believe they are the right people for what they do. Ruth said to herself I know that I know that with God of Israel nothing will be impossible, with the God of Naomi my problems will soon be over!

You see it’s very easy to believe that other people are blessed; to believe that other people can make it. Yes it’s good but learn to believe in yourself. O I challenge you today as you read this article, you are somebody; you are not useless. God can take your hands and use them mightily.

Your belief is very important. Whatever you say if you don’t believe it, it will not come to pass.

Whatever you believe God will cause it to come to pass. Listen to me clearly here despite your position at work or in church, despite what people say and believe about you, it is your belief that’s very important.

Ruth told herself I’m going to Israel, I’m going to make a difference, the Jews are going to see and hear about me. Paul says I can do all things through Christ. But before he spoke of Christ he spoke of himself, I. I can heal the sick; I can preach the gospel; I can raise the dead. As a bishop when I point at someone to come people say ah me and look behind to check if its someone else otherwise it can’t be them so they reason. And I say yes you come! Listen there is no qualification in walking by faith. Your belief qualifies you. Your belief is important. What you believe now will come to pass, God will fulfil.

Here is another thing I know we measure ourselves with where we are but with God it’s not necessarily the case. Look at the man Moses, kept and hid in the river, he is picked from there and began to climb up the ladder! He began to be sensitive and said these people who are suffering are my people! Something began to say in him I will deliver these people, I will deliver these people! O hallelujah I like the Word of God, I like it I like it! He kills a man runs away to the wilderness gets married and thought it’s over. Listen you are on your way to where you must be. Where you are is not your Destiny. The present is not the end. The present is the beginning. Be sensitive, believe God; believe yourself. For with God all things are possible, Mark 10:27
